Privacy Policy — Yows Private Limited

Yows Private Limited ("Yows", "we", "us", "our") operates several mobile applications: YOWS Customer App (cab booking), YOWS Driver App (driver partners), and YOW Support App (battery, inverter & UPS sales & service for employees). This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and your rights.

1. Data We Collect

Depending on the app and features you use, we may collect:

• Identity & Contact: name, phone number, email address, profile information.
• Location: real-time GPS location (foreground and, for drivers, background). See section 4.
• Device & Usage: device identifiers, app usage, crash logs and analytics.
• Media & Documents: photos, invoices, uploaded documents (via Camera / Storage permissions).

2. How We Use Collected Data

• Provide and manage the cab booking service (matching, routing, fare calculation).
• Provide driver tracking, pickup/progress updates, and ETA calculations.
• Assign and track support & service tasks for YOW Support App (sales, installations, service visits).
• Store service photos, invoices, and proof-of-work uploaded by employees.
• Communicate important updates (ride confirmations, receipts, support messages).
• Improve app performance and diagnose problems.

3. Background Location (Driver App)

For drivers who opt in or accept driver terms, the app collects real-time GPS location even when the app is running in the background. This is necessary to:

• Show drivers’ live location to customers during a trip
• Calculate distance, fares, and ETAs accurately
• Provide reliable pickup tracking and navigation
• Maintain trip records for safety, dispute resolution and support

We do not use background location for advertising or sell this location data to third parties.

4. Device Permissions

The apps request only the permissions necessary for features to work properly. Typical permissions include:

• Location (Foreground & Background): required for ride matching, navigation and tracking (background use limited to driver app).
• Camera: capture photos for invoices, installations, product proof, and verification.
• Storage / Files & Media: upload and save invoices, reports and customer documents (support app).
• Notifications: deliver ride alerts, status updates and messages.
• Network / Internet: required to communicate with our servers and provide real-time features.

5. Data Sharing & Third Parties

We use trusted service providers (for hosting, analytics, crash reporting, payment processors). We only share the minimum data needed for them to provide the service. We do not sell or rent personal information to advertisers.

Examples of shared data (where applicable): booking data for payment processing, location & phone number for SMS delivery providers, anonymized analytics to improve service.

6. Data Retention & Deletion

We retain personal data only as long as necessary to provide services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes and enforce agreements. If you request deletion, we will remove your account data subject to legal and operational constraints (e.g., transaction record keeping).

7. Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal data, including encrypted transmission and secure hosting (Firebase and other trusted providers). However, no system is 100% secure — report any suspected breach to the contact below immediately.

8. Rights & Controls

You may:

• Request access to the personal data we hold about you.
• Request correction of inaccurate data.
• Request deletion of your account and data (subject to retention rules).
• Manage app permissions from your device settings (camera, storage, location).

Note: To stop background location for drivers, disable location permission for the Driver App in your device settings — however, this may affect driver functionality.

9. Children

Our apps are not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected child data, contact us and we will take steps to remove it.

10. International Transfers

Data may be processed and stored in servers located in India or other countries where our service providers operate. We take reasonable steps to ensure adequate protection of your data in accordance with applicable law.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted with a revised effective date. Your continued use of the apps after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
